About the Artist
I enrolled in a stained glass course at a regional junior college for some needed therapy back in 1995. I built a few two- dimensional projects utilizing lead came construction and a chandelier using copper foil. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Being fully employed at the time, I didn’t pursue the stained glass any further. Then after retirement and struggling with my new life, I rediscovered stained glass and it’s now not only my hobby, but my passion.

I decided to concentrate completely on two-dimensional leaded stained glass creations – window/ceiling hangings and window/cabinet inserts. I consider my stained glass work the ‘real thing.’ The beauty and interest of an art piece results from the colors, textures and light characteristics of the glass chosen for the design – no painted glass here! I choose my subjects carefully. I prefer natural things with shapes and curves that are pleasing to the eye. Geometric shapes are great for borders, but otherwise aren’t too exciting.

In the beginning I not only wanted to practice my new craft, but have meaningful results as well. I began building things for my own home, then a couple of spec pieces, then pieces for our six children and then eventually pieces for all of our 12 grandkids. I’ve donated many items to non-profits and my Church’s fall festival silent auction and continue to do a variety of commissions.

I’m always interested in promoting my work and getting more exposure – thus this show. Enjoy!
